Pilotage
Compulsory on arrival for arrival and departure for all vessels berthing. Vessels anchoring receive pilotage instruction by radio, unless specifically requests their attendance on board.

Anchorage
Ground, geographically very similar to Gibraltar, with the main area just off the harbour dedicated to normal operations and the south side considered as an Off-port anchorage.

Berthing facilities
Due to the ample availability of quay space, there are berths specifically dedicated to the various commodities e.g. Supplies, petroleum products, cement, containers, general cargo, frozen fish, ro-ro services, passengers, etc., with all berths equipped for supply of bunkers and water.
